Philosophy

Alex is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor/Therapist in an outpatient mental/behavioral health treatment agency. He provides assessments, evaluations, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples for a variety of psychological circumstances.  He is best described as a dedicated and compassionate therapist. He understands that it takes courage to reach out for help.  It is his privilege to provide a safe and secure environment to help clients work through struggles.  Alex is professionally trained to help his clients work through issues, addictions, and behaviors; he will help find the cause among them and attempt to provide an understanding and fix for the desired behavior his clients are looking to change.

Alex prefers an eclectic approach. He finds that best results are achieved when collaborating with other professionals in the field. This collaboration may include speaking with primary care physicians, pediatricians,  neurologists and/or psychiatrists. His approach is very organized in that he likes to target behaviors and isolate symptoms by focusing treatment on specific behaviors and/or symptoms. Interventions used range from: cognitive behavioral therapy, family systemic therapy, insight oriented therapy, play therapy, supportive therapy, solution focused therapy, EMDR, stress management, communication skills, parenting skills, somatic experiencing, and various psycho -educational approaches.
